After a very busy time leading up to Christmas, with many private and corporate parties successfully catered for, Spitting Pig Hertfordshire have enjoyed a well earned rest over the new year and a nice little get away from it all to recharge the old batteries.
The next few months are fairly quiet, we have a few private parties and a couple of DIY hog roasts lined up for later this month and three confirmed bookings for February.
Not a bad start for the year really, and we are seeing lots of enquiries starting to come through, especially for weddings later on in the year. This evening we provided a hog roast menu three, which consisted of pig in a bun, three salads and hot new potatoes in herb butter Steve had organised a surprise 50th Birthday party for his wife Anne Marie at Jay’s rest which is a small club at the rear of Edmonton fire station in North London.
Brian, one of our chef’s was looking forward to this event as he is born and bred in Edmonton, about the same age as the party goers (I don’t think he will mind me saying that) and was convinced he was going to bump into some old mates or even an old flame!!
We arrived in Edmonton about 1:30pm for a 8:30 pm serve, got the pig cooking and set up the marquee, tables and prepared the fresh salads for the evening.
Steve had arranged for Anne Marie to be picked up in a vintage fire engine to bring her to the party. She was completely unaware and only knew it was a surprise party when she climbed in and found her fancy dress police women’s outfit in the cab.
The fancy dress theme was emergency services and all the guests had made a real good effort to dress up and it really was a good night.
The pig was devoured as usual with many guests coming back for seconds and thirds and the fireman on the evening watch were catered for as well.
