The biggest talk of the summer – perhaps even the year or even decade – is undoubtedly the Oasis reunion. The fervour for the greatest Britpop brothers being back together has swept up each and every town and city it has come to. Everyone can’t help but want to get involved in some way or fashion, and we at Hog Roast St Albans have been no different. When we are so near to London, you just can’t help but also get swept up in the Oasis fever of the summer!
Fortunately for us and our Oasis obsessed catering manager Darren, we also have some customers that have been swept up in the excitement. Paul, a local customer, is a massive fan, as our many of his friends and work colleagues. A lot of those colleagues liver overseas, but the Oasis reunion was enough to drag even them in from every branch in the company. So, like any good friend, Paul played host to a massive weekend for he and many of his colleagues to enjoy the Oasis concert at Wembley before then winding down (or up!) with a brilliant summer barbecue catered by Hog Roast St Albans at his house.
When the biggest Britpop band of all time get back together you really do have to make the most of it. And if you are fan from across in Europe or elsewhere in the UK, a plane ride isn’t going to dissuade you. Our guests at Paul’s barbecue were all still brimming from the excitement at Wembley stadium. While chef Darren served up burgers, sausages, chicken kebabs and meaty ribs, the Oasis tunes played high and loud. Everyone soaked in the summer atmosphere while reliving the highs of the evening before, recalling every single detail from Wembley stadium with each Oasis song that played on a loop next. We were having a great time at Hog Roast St Albans – we only wished that all of us could have made it to the gig, too! Still, with our thanks to Paul and his guests, this was an excellent substitute for Oasis summer!
