Fundraising events are hosted by every kind of charity you can imagine, and they tend to include a variety of incentives for people to donate, as well as refreshments and entertainment. At Hog Roast Harpenden, we have all of the refreshments you will need, thanks to our delicious buffet menus!
This July, Hog Roast Harpenden catered for a
fundraiser for Youth Talk, which is an incredible charity for young people. Youth Talk provides free, confidential counselling to 13-25 year-olds in St Albans and surrounding areas, which is a lifeline for many young people in the area. The charity hosted a fundraising day to raise awareness for mental health, which is vital for keeping the charity going. For the catering, our manager Darren was hired to serve our Southern Slow Roast menu for 150 guests to enjoy. This is a delicious and varied menu that was sure to be a success with the guests!
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Harpenden team arrived at the venue on Prospect Lane and began preparing our catering station. We began by slow-roasting the main dishes, which included a barbeque beef brisket, whole-roasted Cajun-spiced chickens, and our classic rack of ribs. Additionally, we served BBQ-pulled jackfruit for meat-free guests, which is a great alternative to pulled pork and tastes incredibly smoky and delicious. The main dishes were served with a selection of fresh bread rolls and wraps and accompanied by herby baby potatoes, corn cobettes, a seasonal green leaf salad, and our homemade coleslaw. Altogether, this created a wonderful buffet menu, with plenty of different dishes for the entire guest list to enjoy. Our menu was a great addition to the event and it was great to see such a good turnout for an important charity fundraiser.
