It may surprise you to know that we recently catered an Easter garden party hog roast but then these days, this style of cooking is actually suitable for any kind of event that you may have in mind. Whether you’re thinking of having friends over for a birthday treat, or you’re planning your engagement party or wedding reception meal, or you even need catering for a large corporate hospitality event, Hog Roast Wareside will come to you and go the extra mile to ensure your party’s success.
When Harry called us to ask about prices for a Hog Roast Wareside at the retirement home he runs, he was surprised to find out just how affordable it can be. A roasted hog goes a long way to feed your guests and in this instance, around 50 people were invited, including the residents, their families and staff members. Harry asked us to cook our infamous pigs in buns, which is what we call hog roast rolls, and bring along some fresh salad dishes, too, so we booked him in for the Easter weekend and our team looked forward to it.
On the day of the garden party, Hog Roast Wareside arrived at the retirement home nice and early in the morning to start cooking the fat beast, as service would be around 1pm. It takes several hours to slowly cook a hog once the meat has been prepared by us on-site, and then we keep a watchful eye on it as it roasts away, sizzling in its own juices and filling the air with amazing aromas. So after putting up our gazebo in the gardens and setting the equipment up, we got to work scoring the hog and smothering it with water to keep it moist and rubbing in salt to produce the lovely crackling. Meanwhile, an Easter egg hunt kept the guests busy.
A few hours later and the hog had attracted lots of attention and cries of, “Is it nearly ready yet?” and it finally was. The queues snaked around the garden as we sliced off pieces of meat and cut off lots of crackling to stuff into fresh bread rolls together with our own apple sauce and stuffing.
