Spitting Pig Hertfordshire has just successfully catered for 250 guests at a 21st birthday party in Hertford. The party was a great success, with live music and even a magician. But the real magic came when we served the guests, with our sumptuously cooked food disappearing before you could say ‘abracadabra!’
With the event held in a marquee at the family’s home, we continued the homely feel by using crockery to serve the food (complete with gravy boats), as opposed to the disposable ware often used for such occasions. The homely feel was completed by the warmth and personal attention of our serving staff, meeting the needs of all guests with a smile.
As ever, we agreed the menu with the hosts beforehand and provided a mouth-watering feast accordingly. In addition to our blue riband succulent hog roast, we provided a broad selection of barbecued meats and fish – including venison, beef, chicken, salmon, tuna and swordfish. There was something for everyone – all done in our unique Spitting Pig style – and served with a fresh selection of ‘salad n’ spuds’.
As with Spitting Pig event catering throughout the country, all of our food is fresh, sourced locally and prepared on the day at the venue. This not only ensures great flavour but it also keeps costs down, while supporting local businesses. And the guests certainly noticed at this event as we received a number of compliments on our ‘crunchy, colourful salads’ and ‘tender, succulent meat’.
A live band performed throughout, including ‘Feeling Hot Hot Hot’ as we served the hog roast! Their cheeky but good-natured acknowledgement was understandable, since they had been asked to perform while the seductive smell of delicious, slowly roasted, seasoned meat wafted across the stage.
The magician was also great fun, drifting from table to table playing card and other tricks to the delight of guests. But with empty plates all around at the end, even this talented magician couldn’t match the disappearing trick of our hog roast!
The event was a great success and the hosts made a point of thanking us during the speeches. Indeed, the young lady in question has already asked us to cater for her next party too – when she gets married in 2014.
It is wonderful to get such glowing feedback but we take nothing for granted and continue to work hard to maintain outstanding quality in every aspect of our Hertfordshire event catering service.
