Tonight we catered for the brownies and guides who meet down the road from us on a Tuesday evening. They were having a charity event and as well as raising money for good causes, they wanted to have a fun night for the girls.
As it was a special occasion we donated our time and machines and they supplied their own potatoes.
They wanted filled jacket potatoes with an option of baked beans, grated cheese, mild chilli co carne and coleslaw. The Jackets come out lovely and crispy on the outside and the middle is really soft and fluffy. The brownies and guides all made their own salads to go with the jacket potatoes. If I remember right, they get a badge or something for this, or I might be showing my age and they don’t do that sort of thing now
Our Spitting Pig Titan hog roasting machine has an attachment that can cook 100 jacket potatoes in one go (they take about an hour or so)
It can also cook about 30 chickens which taste absolutely fantastic, they are so succulent!! Or 3 turkeys at a time. (The turkeys are so tender and moist – we always cook them this way for ourselves at Easter and Christmas).
