We were asked to cater for a reunion on Sunday and we just absolutely love these events! The reunion was for all old school chums most who had not seen each other in over forty years! The event was organised by a lovely chap who had with the help of an Internet sight tracked down all his old chums and sixty were arriving. We headed west with a pig in the van and were really looking forward to the day ahead, Hog Roast arrived at the venue and we got chatting to the man he said he had been searching for months and had just finally found everyone one and astonishingly they all didn’t live too far away. We put the pig onto cook immediately then we set about preparing the vegetables we were cooking lunch for sixty to begin with we made some fresh salmon on a bed of lettuce with a seafood dressing he had checked before hand all liked the menu and none were vegetarian not that it would have been a problem as we still cater separately for vegetarians. For Main pork and delicious sensational tantalising crackling with creamed mashed potato, julienne carrots, broccoli and gravy and for dessert we pre made a trifle which looked wonderful in the huge glass bowl we make all things fresh on the day and we had been up since 5 am making the trifle and waiting for the layers to set that was the only thing we couldn’t make at the event but we kept it fresh in the fridge we have specially made into the van which is a must when you are transporting food. Everything was ready just waiting for the guests and bang on time they arrived and were all ever so excited chatting away and were all pleased to see each other after such a long time, we served the courses and we received clean plates back which we like shows all have enjoyed the food a splendid day and ever so touching seeing all greet each other after such a long time we see some amazing sights at Hog Roast Hire…
