The social calendar at university in the summer is typically inundated with stress and exams for students. However, it is all rounded off with a Summer Ball that is always a good opportunity to let your hair down and have some fun! Hog Roast Harlow were really excited to work with their local university to provide the catering for the final social event of the academic year.
The Summer Ball was going to be a twelve hour event this year, going from 1pm to 1am. The organisers wanted the Hog Roast Harlow catering to be available from 12am until 1am so that the students could take the food away with them to enjoy while on their way home. Therefore, the team would be serving the buffet to the students in disposable take away containers, that were paid for as part of the catering package.
The clients worked with the team to put together a simple but tasty menu for the 80 guests. The food that the clients were after was tasty but quite plain, so that the guests could fill up on food before heading to bed or on to other parties.
The Hog Roast Harlow Chef and assistant arrived on campus at 6pm in order to set up their catering gazebo, equipment and lights beside the Sports Hall. All the dishes were cooked freshly on site so that when the hungry students started to leave around midnight they were met with a mouth-watering buffet that they could take home with them.
The serving table that the Chef and assistant set up had a whole host of delicious choices for the students to enjoy. They could have a Classic Hog Roast: a slow roasted pig, complete with crispy crackling, stuffing and tangy apple sauce. Or they could have Hog Roast Harlow favourite: extra cheesy loaded fries! There was also a large platter of jacket wedges and a large pile of grilled vegetable wraps. The students could also take a soft roll or a selection pot of sauces away with them too if they wanted.
By 1am most of the students had had their fill of the buffet and headed home with their Hog Roast food under their arms. The clients were delighted with the students reactions to the surprise buffet, and the team were thrilled to have been at such a happy event.
