Company Buffet – Hog Roast Bovingdon

One of our long-term corporate clients booked us in for a company event a few weeks ago and we spent yesterday catering for lots of hungry guests with a delicious informal Hog Roast Bovingdon buffet. We can cater for just about any number of people and in this case, we catered for more than a hundred guests, including employers, employees, and business contacts.

The event organiser, Samantha, asked us to provide our Corporate Hospitality Menu 2, with the Hog Roast Bovingdon option rather than a different meat. In the past with this company, it’s been hugely popular and a clear favourite, and Samantha said she needed to please the majority!

After being lovingly roasted for several hours, our Hog Roast Bovingdont with this menu is also served alongside two freshly-prepared salads and warmed new potatoes in a herby butter, as well as soft bread rolls in case anyone wants to enjoy our ‘pigs in buns’; you can pile pieces of the slow-roasted pork and bits of crackling into the bread rolls and then top with our homemade apple sauce and stuffing and your choice of condiments that we provide. This is definitely one of our most-wanted options for any occasion!

For the salad choices, Samantha asked us for our avocado and cherry tomato salad and our homemade coleslaw, both of which we freshly prepare at the venue on the day, too.

So yesterday we went along to the workplace and set up our hog roasting machine and serving station underneath the gazebo, ready to roast an extra-large hog for several long hours. We were near to the patio heaters which was a blessing on this cold, wintry day, so we soon warmed up. Soon, the unmistakably sweet smells of a slow-cooked pig filled the air, which made many of the guests’ mouths water as they started to arrive.

Once we’d sliced the soft rolls, dished up the accompaniments, prepared the salads and checked on the potatoes, the hog was finally ready to be devoured. The queues started to form, and we started carving off the crackling and slicing into the meat, and the ravenous guests gave us a round of applause.
