Herfordshire hog roasters busy month

Wardown Park Bowls Club – Luton

We are back in Luton in Bedfordshire to Wardown Park Bowls Club for a pig in a bun hog roast. Following how successful the event was earlier in the year, Neville was keen to organise another event. There was a race night again and they served their own roast potatoes and salads.Josie and I had a few bets on the horses, I could not pick a winner but Josie came out quid’s in.If you run or are involved with a sports club or social club and are looking for a night to raise some money for your club, a race night and hog roast go so well together and it is sure to be a hit with the members of your club.

Today is all go after quite a relaxing hog roast event in Luton last night. We dropped off a Titan machine with a 50kg pig to Agnes in Hemel Hempstead. It is her husband’s 90th Birthday and they were celebrating with a large family gathering. (We have supplied the machine for DIY jobs to her son on three or four occasions over the last few years so Mark has become quite good at carving and is at home behind the machine)We also supplied Agnes with one of our small catering marquees and some trestle tables.  If possible we will not just drop the equipment off and leave you to it, but also salt the pig and start the cooking for you.  We can leave you knowing the day should go well!!

We’ve got a busy weekend coming up, but slightly different from the usual Saturday and Sunday functions that has kept us busy from the beginning of April.

We have a hog roast menu three on Thursday evening and This morning we dropped off two machines to a guy called Mark who runs the A127 Diner on the A127 North Arterial Road on the way to Southend, and also a machine to Kashu restaurant in St Albans who are catering them selves for the CAMRA beer fest at The Alban Arena. I am going there myself on Friday for a lads night out.

On Thursaday, we are catering for a French lady called Vania, and were in Hemel Hempstead which is unusual as we travel all over the South East. It is nice to have a function on your door step.

Its quite handy having the job tomorrow night and then three DIY jobs at the weekend, as we are heading of to Clayton Le Moors near Blackburn on Saturday morning for the weekend. We are meeting up with all the lads and from Spitting Pig for a get together.
