You know what they say: variety is the spice of life – and for us, that’s one of the top perks of the job!
When you’re a Hog Roast Knebworth caterer, no two days are ever the same. One moment our team could be preparing themselves for a large-scale community event with hundreds of people, and the next, they might be getting ready for a small and intimate gathering with only a handful of guests.
Proving this very fact, just last week, our crew went from handling a grand wedding with close to 300 guests to a Scooby Doo-themed birthday party in the space of 24 hours!
The latter was organised by Emily on behalf of her son, Toby, who was celebrating his 9th birthday. The b-day boy had been allowed to invite his entire class (23 children) to the event, which took place in one of the local event’s halls.
Emily had enlisted the help of Hog Roast Knebworth’s caterers to provide an affordable, child-friendly menu for the occasion, and she was extremely impressed with what our team came up with.
On the day of the event, our catering manager, Daniel, effortlessly whipped up a buffet of chicken kebabs, gourmet hot dogs, BBQ pulled jackfruit buns and British beef burger patties, which were served on gluten-free cobs with melting cheese to the fancy-dress-wearing bunch.
Mixed sweet potato and regular fries, homemade coleslaw and a variety of salad options were also on the menu, giving the kids a hearty choice to indulge in – they certainly seemed to appreciate this following a busy morning of dancing and party games, which included a Scooby Doo style mystery to solve!
To Emily’s relief, the party went swimmingly and was a huge success, but, of course, no birthday party – especially a children’s birthday party – would be complete without some yummy snacks and a dessert. So, Hog Roast Knebworth put together a grazing table of crisps, finger sandwiches and a tempting variation of confectionery items. Slices of birthday cake were added to this mouth-watering feast after Toby had blown the candles out.
