Family Birthday Celebrations With Hog Roast Watford

Our Hog Roast Watford catering professionals are often asked to provide fresh, tasty, wholesome dishes for a variety of private parties and corporate functions and that of course includes being asked to cook a traditional hog roast. Regardless of how you want it served, for example as a plated meal together with seasonal vegetables and new potatoes, as moreish pigs in buns or in addition to other food, our locally-sourced hogs are prepared from scratch and cooked for hours on end until we get crispy, salty crackling and succulent and tender morsels of meat. Our amazing hog roasts have been perfected over many years and we’re decidedly proud of them and once you and your guests have tried one, you won’t go back!

Hog Roast WatfordWe recently catered a family birthday party for Carly’s teenage daughter, and the host wanted to impress her guests with our fabulous Hog Roast Watford pigs in buns but also needed a gluten-free option for one of them. While we can provide lots of options for guest with dietary needs, those who suffer from a gluten intolerance or allergy may be surprised to know that they can still enjoy our pigs in buns – we just need to provide gluten-free bread rolls as everything else is already suitable. Carly for one was thrilled and relieved to find this out and booked us to cater over the weekend.

When our Hog Roast Watford chef and catering assistant arrived at Carly’s home on Saturday morning, she was busy decorating the back garden for her daughter’s birthday party while we set up our hog roasting machine, gazebo and serving table. The twenty guests wouldn’t be arriving for hours but our chef cracked on with preparing the meat by scoring it all over, covering it in water to keep it moist and then massaging in plenty of salt, which produces the crackling.

Later in the day, once the meat was resting, our catering duo sliced the bread rolls (keeping the gluten-free ones separate), dished up our own stuffing and apple sauce and arranged the condiments next to the serviettes, and then once everyone had arrived to some wonderful aromas, it was time to carve away and satisfy everyone’s hunger.
