Medieval banquet at Toynbee Hall.

Toynbee hallThis evening Spitting Pig Hertfordshire are providing a medieval hog roast banquet for Telereal Trillium, one of the countries leading property and investment companies who lead the way in managing large, property and investment portfolios.
The theme for the night is a medieval hog roast banquet for the staff from not only the central office but from all over the country.
Toynbee hall is the ideal venue for a corporate event….. A very old building with character….Two large function rooms, with lovely wooden floors and panelled walls give the halls a touch of sophistication.
When you think of hog roast catering, you can conjure up a picture of days gone by….. A whole hog roasting over dancing flames, jesters entertaining the king, queen and noble men, and chefs pouring mead into pint tankards. The whole affair being jolly, laid back and just full of fun. We have provided spit roast catering for many medieval enactment groups over the years and the evenings are always a huge success with many guests getting carried away while in costume and Toynbee Hall 2I am sure ,living out a fantasy for a few hours.
Spitting Pig Hertfordshire have a great team of chefs, assistants and waitresses who are all very out going and willing to go that extra mile to entertain you while we provide your hog roast feast. Our chefs were dressed to impress in tights, tunics and hide waistcoats and the wenches… Oops, I mean waitresses wore long flowing frocks. I actually think Leanne’s was straight out of her wardrobe as all her other clothes seem to look the same!
As the guests approached the hall they could see their meat feast of hog roast cooking before them. Slowly spinning whilst basting in its own juices, the hog was roasting to perfection….. Crispy golden crackling was enveloping the mouth watering roast pig and the sweet aroma of succulent pork filled the air in the courtyard. Our chef (Steve) looked great in his costume and chatted to the inquisitive passers by who gave him odd looks and questioned his attire.
As the guests arrived they were greeted by one of our wenches who served champagne. Canapés of were also offered as the guests mingled and chatted.
We had laid the tables with wooden crockery and cutlery, and also silver tankards and wine goblets for that authentic look. Our serving table was rustically dressed with hessian cloth and ivy to add to the theme and salads and side dishes were served from wooden bowls. Two pigs’ heads with apples in their mouths were at either end of the hog roast banquet table.
The evening was a huge success and the revellers came back for more and more until the hog was almost stripped to the bones.
